Thank You Past-President, Kent Morris-RF, ALC, for your tremendous efforts and successes in 2018!

For 2019 the chapter’s board is focused on membership, events, and course offerings.   The Alabama, Florida, and Georgia Chapters of the Realtors Land Institute are presenting a Tri-State Education and Networking opportunity for RLI members and non-members. Please pre-register to reserve your seat!

Presenter: Jeff Lucas, PLS, Esq., who will be teaching two (2) sessions.

  1. Deeds, Conveyances and Boundaries, and 2. Title Insurance and Boundary Surveys

Last year, with great success, GA Chapter RLI offered LANDU’s 2 day Land 101: Fundamentals of Land Brokerage course hosted by the Northeast Metro Atlanta Association of Realtors (NAMAR) in Duluth, GA.  The course was well received by 33 members of NAMAR.  In following up with our GA Chapter outreach to Realtor Boards/Associations across Georgia, we are currently in talks with the DeKalb Association of Realtors to bring another great LANDU course, Transitional Land, to one of our Georgia Board/Association of Realtors.  The course is tentatively scheduled for September. Dates and course info will be forthcoming and posted on our website.

As we move through the year, the Georgia Chapter will be firming up our chapter participation at the SunBelt AgExpo in Moultrie, GA.  Our goal is to bring additional recognition of the Georgia Chapter RLI to the ag farm land owner and broker community (link – https://sunbeltexpo.com).  The AgExpo will be held October 15-17, 2019.  Details will be sent to our member base once we’ve secured our booth location.

As a reminder to our current members, the Georgia Chapter RLI no longer charges state dues.  When you pay your national dues with the Realtors Land Institute, as a Georgia resident, by default, you are added to the GA Chapter RLI Roster as a GA Chapter Member.

Your 2019 Officers and Board of Directors:

President- Jesse Armistead, ALC
VP- Raborn Taylor III, ALC
Secretary- Mike Garrett, ALC
Treasurer- Sam Bowers, ALC
Director – Kent Morris, ALC
Director – Dan Crocker, ALC

We encourage you to take the opportunity in 2019 to be a part and become involved with an exceptional group of individuals. The chapter meetings are a great way to mingle with folks in your industry that have the same challenges in technology, marketing, management, educational requirements, etc., that we all have.

We would like to thank our Georgia Chapter members for their support.  As a member, please feel free to post an article you’ve written, or one of your best land listings on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/georgiarli/

In closing, as your 2019 GA Chapter President, I look forward to working with our board and members to expand our GA Chapter RLI presence and expose to the greater Georgia Realtor community, the excellent land education and networking opportunities our Georgia Chapter has to offer.
